MARY L. “MARY LOU” GARDNER (nee Ciro) age 73, beloved wife for 49 years of Jerry; cherished daughter of the late Joseph Charles and Lillian (nee Lograsso) Ciro; dearest sister of Andrea Ciro Delmont (husband Shep Altshuler), Carol Fallon (husband Brian) and the late Lois Ciro; dear sister-in-law, aunt and friend of many.
Mary Lou was born in East Cleveland on May 2, 1948 and passed away peacefully on September 27, 2021. She was a resident of Kirtland, and prior to that, Euclid for her adult life, but grew up in Cleveland Heights. Mary Lou was a graduate of Regina High School, and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Ursuline College. She then went on to be an art teacher for K-12th graders for 30 years. Mary Lou had a passion for kittens and cats, and loved to listen to Perry Como and Dean Martin. What brought the most joy to her life was her husband Jerry and being with her sister Andrea and brother-in-law, Shep. Mary Lou loved holidays! She also enjoyed going out to dinner, talking, and laughing. She will be missed by many.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Mary Lou to Future Directions Peer Support for the Mentally Ill through Arts and Crafts.
Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Relatives and friends are requested to meet for the Mass of Christian Burial Friday October 8, 2021 at 10AM at St. Noel Catholic Church 35200 Chardon Rd, Willoughby Hills, OH 44094. Family will receive friends immediately following Mass at St. Noel Banquet Center. Arrangements by THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS.
