Mary Jo Vano

MARY JO VANO, age 67, cherished daughter of the late Andrew P. and Genevieve T. (nee Kavalecz) Vano; dearest sister of Frances Vano and the late James (wife Carol, deceased), William (wife Kathleen, deceased) (wife Patricia), and Michael Vano; dear aunt of Phillip Vano, Laura Puffenberger, Leslie, Matthew, Linda, Jeffrey, and David Vano and great-aunt of many. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Mary Jo to Lake Humane Society 7564 Tyler Blvd. Bldg. E, Mentor, OH 44060. Cremation by DeJohn Crematory.

Mary Jo was born on December 27, 1950 in Cleveland and passed away on October 28, 2018. She was a resident of Mentor for almost 30 years and a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Jo was a member of Book Club and Silver Sneakers. She graduated from St. Peter High School and attended Notre Dame College. Jo was an administrative assistant at University Hospital for Clinical Psychology and OB/GYN Department. She was passionate about recycling and loved reading, yoga, and Tai Chi. Jo loved animals. She enjoyed rescuing animals, feeding birds and volunteering at pet shelters. Jo was an Indians and Steelers fan. She enjoyed traveling with her sister and cousins. She was a gentle soul and will be dearly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to meet for the Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 10 AM at St. Colman Catholic Church, 2027 W. 65th St., Cleveland, OH 44102. Burial following at Calvary Cemetery.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Mary Jo at THE CHURCH SATURDAY MORNING 9-10 AM. Arrangements by THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS.
