Mary Herrmann

MARY L. HERRMANN (nee Vidmar), age 98, passed away on Saturday August 25, 2012. She was born on February 22, 1914 in Cleveland, Ohio. Beloved wife of the late Stanley; loving mother of Dennis (wife Aggie) and Ronald (wife Barb); devoted grandmother of Kim, Douglas, Darin and great-grandmother of four; cherished sister of the late Donald Vidmar, aunt of Vicki and Tony. Mary worked as a secretary to a Unit Principal at Cleveland Heights High School for ten years. She had a long list of friends including neighbors and work associates. Christmas started in October each year for Mary as she sent and received as many as 200 Christmas cards. There was never anyone who Mary could not befriend. When Mary was more mobile she loved to shop and continued driving until she was 88 years old. She will always be loved and remembered by her family for her tremendous support and generosity. Mary was always there for any member of the extended family who needed help. She was a teenager during the Great Depression of 1929 and would often talk about how bad things were at that time. She loved to cook and bake and her Lemon Meringue Pies were so good that they never lasted more than a day or two. She would want to give special thanks to her caregivers Kathy and Mary Kay plus Colleen, her visiting nurse. Mary will be buried next to her husband Stanley at a private graveside service at Knollwood Cemetery. There will be no calling hours per her request.
