Mary Gromek

MARY M. “MINDY” “MINDO” GROMEK (nee Spackman), aged 53 years, died Sunday Nov. 7 at Richmond Hospital surrounded by loved ones. She is survived by her beloved and dedicated husband Richard J., her cherished children Richard J. (Kristy), Christopher, Matthew, Nicholas and Hallie, devoted daughter of Adrienne (nee Kofron) and the late Thomas Spackman, loving sister of Kristen Tash (George), Elaine Eberlin, Tim Spackman (Jean), Kelly Tonti, and Susan Pekoc (Tom), fond sister-in-law of Frank Planovsky (Lois), Joe Gromek (Barb), Joanne Stevens (Larry), and Stanley Gromak (Angie), treasured aunt and great-aunt of many whom she made feel very loved and special.

Mindy was an honors graduate of Kent State University, and recently retired after 25 years of service for the Cuyahoga County Child Support Division. She was a dedicated member of the former St. Gregory the Great Church, the Respect Life Ministry, and the Cleveland Serra Club. Mindy was dedicated to her faith, family and friends. She was the family organizer, Conneaut Queen, volleyball “assassin” and “funnel” She was cherished by many close friends and loved ones.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, Nov. 12, 2010 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish at 11:00 AM. Burial following in Lake View Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Mindy at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just East of Green Rd.) WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY 4-8 PM.
