MARY T. GRASSO (nee Marino) age 97, beloved wife of the late Anthony; loving mother of Frank (Cora), Toni Cirino (Anthony) and Janet Stratz (Robert); devoted grandmother of Lisa, Angelo and Michael Cirino and Dana and Erica Stratz; cherished daughter of the late Gaetano and Vincenza (nee Maenza) Marino; dearest sister of the late Lena Lombardo (Ignazio, deceased), Samuel (Ruth, deceased), Thomas (Gertrude, deceased), James (Marianna “Babe”, deceased), John (Gloria, deceased) and Nick Marino (Jody and Margaret, deceased); dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

Mary was born November 29, 1920 and passed away on June 29, 2018. She was a long-time resident of Wickliffe and attended Collinwood High School. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Anthony, for 63 years and was a wonderful and loving mother to her 3 children. She was also a nurturing grandmother to her 5 grandchildren who she loved dearly. Mary was active at Covenant Baptist Church for 30 years where she was involved in several women’s groups. She loved to volunteer at the former Richmond Heights General Hospital in her free time. Mary enjoyed spending time in the kitchen cooking, baking, and canning. She also found happiness in knitting, crocheting, and was competitive when playing bingo with her friends. Some of Mary’s most cherished memories were spending time with her family. You could always find her hosting holiday parties or attending summer picnics. She loved to help at her children’s school parties and events. Mary was intelligent, strong-willed, and had a great sense of humor. She will be remembered as being loving, hardworking, with a strong sense of spiritualty. Mary will be dearly missed by her family and those who knew her.

Burial following at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Mary at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.)  THURSDAY July 5, 2018 from 4-8 PM
