MARY ELLEN THOMPSON (nee Roche) age 72, former wife of the late Ronald Thompson; cherished daughter of the late Myles F. and Angela (nee Zirm) Roche; dearest sister of Michael Roche, Kathleen Jaskolka (husband Donald), Connie Carr (husband Larry), Myles Roche Jr. (wife Reneé, deceased), and Brigid; dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

Mary Ellen was born on October 18, 1943 and passed away on July 19, 2016. She was a resident of Brecksville for over 30 years. Mary Ellen was a member of The Conversion of St. Paul Shrine Catholic Church. She attended Ursuline Academy and was an administrative assistant for the city of Brecksville. Mary Ellen enjoyed golfing, bowling, traveling and was an avid reader. She was a very intelligent, compassionate and funny. Mary Ellen was kind and fun to be with at family gatherings and out on the town. She was a great listener, a wonderful home decorator and a very sharp dresser. Mary Ellen will be missed by all who knew her.

Mass of Christian Burial Monday, July 25, 2016 at The Conversion of St. Paul Shrine, 4120 Euclid Ave. at 10 AM. Burial following at Lakewood Park Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Mary Ellen at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) SUNDAY 2-5 PM and MONDAY MORNING AT THE CHURCH 9-10 AM.
