MARY CATHERINE WALDRON (nee Shaw) age 96, beloved wife of the late Patrick; loving mother of Geoffrey (wife Susan), Catherine Trepal and Mary Beth Golja (husband Frederick); devoted grandmother of Kevin (wife Cindy), Maureen Henson (husband Jacob), Erin Krieger (husband Andrew), Megan Kreher (husband Matthew), Brendan Trepal, Colleen Golja and great-grandmother of 9; cherished daughter of the late Harold and Beatrice (nee Flynn) Shaw; dearest sister of the late Harold “Bud” Shaw (wife Dolly); dear sister-in-law, aunt and great-aunt of many.

Mary was born on November 26, 1922 in Cleveland and passed away on April 12, 2019. She was a resident of many places over the years including Hubbard, Ohio, Natick Massachusetts, Charlotte, North Carolina, St. Louis, Missouri, and Avon, Connecticut, but most recently South Euclid. Mary was a parishioner of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish for 35 years. She attended Immaculate Conception Grade School and graduated from Andrews High School in 1940 and attended business school. Mary volunteered as a candy striper, sold World Book Encyclopedias, was a Welcome Wagon hostess and proudly worked as a receptionist in dentistry. Mary also worked for the Vandervort Department Stores in St. Louis part time. She loved knitting, swimming, gardening, and traveling in her free time. Mary also enjoyed fashion, Broadway musicals and flowers. She treasured the time spent with her family and friends. Mary was outgoing with a great sense of humor. She will be dearly missed by all.

Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 10 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Mary at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) TUESDAY 3-6 PM.
