Mary Bocchieri

MARY BOCCHIERI (nee Frano) age 95, beloved wife for 75 years of John; loving mother of John Jr (wife Sondra), Dave (wife Cynthia), Joyce Marie Wasco (husband Marty) and Richard Salvatore; devoted grandmother of Christopher, Liana, Justin (wife Jana), April (fiancé Jared) and Elliot and great-grandmother of Escher Bocchieri; cherished daughter of the late Frank and Marianna (nee Gurzi) Frano; dearest sister of Becky Rogazione (husband Joe deceased), Eva Frano and the late Eliseo (wife Grace), Joseph (wife Dena), Daniel (wife Pat deceased) and Katy Frano; dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

Mary was born on September 8, 1924 in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania and passed away into the presence of her Lord on January 21, 2020 at her home in Wickliffe after a long illness. At a young age, she and her family moved to Collinwood where she met her husband, John. Eventually, Mary and John moved to Wickliffe where they lived for 68 years. Mary received her certification as a cosmetologist and worked at various hairdresser’s shops, including the salon at Higbee’s and Belle Jacobs. She enjoyed giving free haircuts to her loved ones.

Mary was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. It was her strong devotion to Christ that guided her life and caused her to share God’s love to everyone around her. She was active at Calvary Assembly of God, singing in the choir, involved in the women’s group and Sunday school and taught young girls in the Missionettes program. Several of these girls have shared how her love for them changed their lives and remained with them through the years. Mary also prayed fervently and constantly for her family and the needs of others. She was truly the spiritual heart of her family and will be missed by all who knew her.

Celebration of Life Service Thursday, January 30, 2020 at 11 AM at Calvary Assembly of God 28870 Chardon Road, Willoughby Hills. Burial following at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Mary at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) WEDNESDAY 3-5 and 6-8 PM and at the CHURCH THURSDAY MORNING 10-11 AM.
