Mary Benyo

MARY J. BENYO, 92, of Mayfield Heights, entered into eternal life, Friday, November 11, 2016 at Regina Health Care Center in Richfield, OH. She was born May 5, 1924 in Cleveland, OH to the late Joseph and Mary (nee Gyorgyi) Benyo.

Mary was a long time parishioner of St. Clare Church and worked as a secretary for Saint Luke’s Hospital from 1960 until she retired in 1989. Mary’s hobbies included reading, crossword puzzles and bowling. Her family described her as a very determined no non-sense lady was very independent.

Mary is survived by her daughter Judy Barnes (Dale); grandchildren Kristin Springer (Gary) and Danielle Barnes; sister-in-law Rose Benyo; and many nieces and nephews.

Mary is preceded in death by her sisters Margaret Buday (husband Joseph), Anna Kovach (husband John Kovach and John Bukovinski), Elizabeth Balla (husband Joseph), and Irene Zurney (husband Stephen Zurney and Frank Balogh) and brothers Joseph Benyo  and Stephen Benyo.

Mary’s Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday November 17, 2016 at St. Clare Catholic Church at 10:30 AM with a burial following at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon, OH.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Mary at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) WEDNESDAY 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
