MARJORIE M. SZANISZLO (nee Oaks), aged 89 years, beloved wife of the late Robert E., dearest mother of Sandra Doran (William - deceased), Linda Rudy (Thomas), Cynthia Antczak (Robert) and Charles "Chuck", loving grandmother of Kelly Cantwell (Brandon), Stephanie Doran-Brubaker (Douglas), Bethany Rudy (Daniel King), Tyler Rudy (Olivia Lash), and Samantha and Matthew Antczak, cherished great-grandmother of Mia Irene Cantwell, dear sister of Nancy Beatty (Frank) (both deceased), fond aunt, great-aunt and friend to many.

Marge was born in Natrona Heights, PA and later moved to Columbus, OH with her parents and younger sister Nancy. She attended Ohio State University and received a bachelor’s degree in social work which led her to Cleveland for her first job. Marge was set up with her husband, Robert, on a blind date and they married August 8, 1959. Marge stayed home and raised her 4 children until they were school aged. She went back to work and was able to continue a fulfilling career in social work at a skilled nursing facility. She was an active member of Noble Road Presbyterian Church for many years and taught Sunday school as well as being a part of the church’s women’s group. She enjoyed sewing, baking, gardening and reading. After her retirement, she helped care for her grandchildren and was a wonderful and present grandmother. She also volunteered at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital. Marge loved spending time and playing games with her family, passing along her love of ice cream and babies to almost all of them.

Contributions in memory of Marjorie suggested to Hospice of the Western Reserve or to Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital. 

Funeral services Friday, July 26, 2024, at the funeral home at 10:30 AM. Following a luncheon, burial in Crown Hill Cemetery (Twinsburg). To honor Marjorie’s love of color and flowers, the family invites guests to join them in wearing bright colors to the memorial service. Family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Marjorie at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just East of Green Rd.) THURSDAY 4-7 PM.
