MARION D. LORENZO (nee Shutack) age 85; beloved wife for 46 years of the late Anthony; loving mother of Joseph Centofanti (wife Becky), Lorena Graham (husband Larry), Patricia Smith (fiancé Matthew Moehring), Anthony (wife Jeannine) and Nicole Lorenzo-Luna (husband Arturo); devoted grandmother of Joseph (Annie), Jennifer, James (Lydia), Jonathan and Jordan Centofanti, Bridget Conway-Sopko (Mark), Jon and Grace Graham, Christian, Jason and Anthony Smith, Thomas and Caitlyn Lorenzo, Salvador and Agustin Luna and great-grandmother of Anthony, Joseph, Kellen, Nicholas, Jacob, Luke, Lane and Luke; treasured daughter of the late Michael and Veronica (nee Hurtack) Shutack; dearest sister of Eleanor Corona, Florence Henderson, John and Michael Shutack, Dorothy Tranchito, Robert Shutack, Barbara Issel, David Shutack and the late Anne Dellyse; dear aunt and great aunt of many.

Marion was born into a loving family on August 19, 1929, in Belsano, PA.  She and her nine siblings grew up on a farm and being one of the oldest daughters she helped care for all of her younger siblings.  She married Joseph Centofanti at the age of 18 and had her oldest son, Joseph. After her first husband’s death, she moved to Cleveland Heights and eventually met Anthony Lorenzo with whom she had a loving marriage of 46 years.  Marion had four children with Tony:  Lorena, Patricia, Anthony and Nicole.  Marion had many aspirations in life, but most important to her was providing a loving environment for her entire family.  It was an inviting home and her family still jokes that they all lived with her at one time or another. But that was who Marion and Tony were.  They always had their door and hearts open; food and homemade wine on the table; parties where she and her sisters would cook for days in advance.  Family and friends who would sing and laugh in the backyard so loud that the police would finally have to come and tell the “old people” to keep it down.  She loved to cook but entertaining was her special talent. She was an extremely smart woman and well read even though her formal education ended in the 8th grade but at the age of 60 she received her High School GED.  It was one of her proudest moments and we were all so proud of her. She loved to read, garden, play cards and do crossword puzzles. She enjoyed Italian opera and country music.  She was a devote Catholic.  A member of Christ the King, Cleveland Hts., St. Bede, Mentor and most recently Holy Trinity in Avon.  Marion will always be remembered for her warm smile, electric kisses and hugs that made everything better. We will miss you so much.

Mass of Christian Burial Friday, February 27, 2015 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, 1545 S. Green Rd in South Euclid, at 11 AM. Burial following at Knollwood Cemetery.  Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Marion at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) THURSDAY 4 – 8 PM.
