MARIO PERCIC (87), beloved husband for more than 52 years of the late Helena (nee Mihelich); loving father of Thomas, Anthony (wife Susan), Timothy (wife Marilyn), and Majdi Patyk (husband Robert); devoted grandfather of Tyler, Travis, Bret, Kalea, Apollo, Roman, Molly, Jacob, Penelope, and Finnegan; cherished son of the late Franc and Frančiska (nee Bresar); dearest brother of Filip (wife Nevenka), Frank (wife Robin) and Maria (Ted) Lawrence and deceased siblings Janez (wife Tončka), Olga (husband George - dec.) Mascol and Michael (wife Anne); dear uncle and great-uncle of many. U.S. Army Veteran.
Mario was born in Slovenia on February 1, 1937, and immigrated to the United States in 1949. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1956 and from John Carroll University in 1961. Mario retired from Sunny Acres Skilled Nursing Facility after 33 years of service primarily as a Financial Controller. He volunteered many nights at St. Felicitas Church and School fundraisers. He was a member of the Slovenian Sports Club. He coached little league baseball - including a league championship team (insert crowd cheering). Playing cards - esp. Tarok, Poker, Bridge - was a cherished past-time that he shared with everyone.
After retirement, Mario became a Minister to Seniors at the St. Vitus Village and an altar server at St. Vitus Church. He was a member of KSKJ, St. Vitus Catholic War Veterans, and Treasurer of Slovenska Pristava. Above all, Mario was devoted to his wife Helena, children, and ten grandchildren. He found true enjoyment spending time with them while listening to Slovenian music. Mario passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 3, 2024. He was always loved by those that knew him best.

Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, March 7, 2024 at St. Vitus Catholic Church 6019 Lausche Avenue, Cleveland, OH at 10 AM. Burial at a later date. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Mario at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) WEDNESDAY 3-5 AND 6-8 PM.
