MARILYN A. MARTINES (nee Ramaciatti) age 93, beloved wife for 73 years of the late James; loving mother of Salvatore (wife Della), Joyce Moss (husband Joe) and Diane Jeunnette (husband Jeff); devoted grandmother of Jimmy, Sal and Nick Martines, Gina Mersonia, Alex Moss and Lauren Jeunnette and great-grandmother of nine; cherished daughter of the late Daniel and Eleanor (nee Adamczewski) Ramaciatti; dearest sister of Lynette Perconti (husband Sam, deceased) and the late Dolores Lanese (husband John, deceased) and Janice Pettine.
Marilyn was born in Cleveland on March 1, 1931 and died peacefully on January 21, 2025 surrounded by her family. She proudly lived her early years in the Little Italy neighborhood and graduated from East High School. She and her husband Jim lived in the Woodland neighborhood before settling in Mayfield Heights for over 57 years. They were long-time parishioners at St. Francis of Assisi and belonged to the ISDA Lodge #192 where she enjoyed playing bocce. Marilyn enjoyed cooking, painting, some gardening, going out to eat, and having her coffee. She especially loved to clean! And many times the music of Andrea Bocelli, Frank Sinatra, or Pavarotti would be playing loudly. Marilyn truly enjoyed family gatherings, Christmas parties, and summer cookouts. She absolutely adored her grandkids and great-grandkids. She was also known for getting an early start Christmas shopping right around the New Year. Marilyn was soft on the outside, yet typical of her generation could be firm and hard on the inside. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends – yet they are comforted knowing she rejoins her husband Jim, who passed away just 11 months ago, and her Cockapoo Dino.
