In the heart of Cleveland, Ohio, on November 30, 1958, a beacon of love and positivity, Marilyn Ann Mack, graced this world with her presence. Born to the late Willie H. Mack Sr. and Patricia L. Mack (nee Taylor), Marilyn's life was a testament to unwavering faith, boundless love, and an insatiable zest for living.
At the core of Marilyn's being was her devotion to her faith and her beloved God, Jehovah. Her baptism as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on June 27th, 1975, marked the beginning of a journey characterized by steadfast faith and profound spiritual connection.
Marilyn's priorities were clear: God, family, friends, and, of course, the joy of shopping – in that exact order! Known for her generous spirit, Marilyn's love overflowed into every aspect of her life. Her shelves were stocked not with possessions for herself, but with treasures to share with those she held dear.
A culinary connoisseur, Marilyn's favorite dishes from Fredericks Restaurant or Angie's Soul Food were Fried Perch, Macaroni & Cheese, greens, and yams. And who could forget her delectable baked creations? From Carrot cake to German Chocolate and irresistible brownies with nuts or without of course, Marilyn's kitchen was a sanctuary of sweetness and warmth.
Beyond her culinary talents, Marilyn was an avid reader and an adventurous traveler. But perhaps her most cherished role was that of navigator. Even if you had a Navigation System in your car, you knew to just let Marilyn lead the way or drive. With a keen sense of direction and a determination to find the quickest route, Marilyn led the way, guiding others with her unwavering confidence.
Marilyn attended Cleveland Public Schools, Gracemount Elementary, Whitney Young Junior High School and she Graduated from Jane Addams in June of 1976. Marilyn was employed at Halle's Department Store and she retired from Ohio Bell (AT&T).
Despite facing illness with grace and resilience, Marilyn never lost her optimism or her infectious positivity. Her strength and fortitude were a testament to her character, inspiring all who knew her.
Marilyn's legacy lives on in the hearts of those she touched. Preceded in death by her parents, Willie H. Mack Sr. and Patricia A. Mack, Her brother, Willie H. Mack Jr. and her niece, Christina McConnell (Myron McConnell). She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories,To her sister, Carolyn Hewston(Curtis), her brother, Michael Mack (Maria), Dorothy Mack and Kimberly Mack, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a vast network of friends and spiritual brothers and sisters, Marilyn's love endures, a beacon of light in the darkness.
As we celebrate the life of Marilyn Ann Mack, let us remember her boundless love, her unwavering faith, and her remarkable spirit. Though she may be gone from our sight, her memory will forever shine bright.
The family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Marilyn on FRIDAY, April 26, 2024, from 4 - 5:30 PM at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just East of Green Rd.). Funeral services following at 5:30 PM. Interment services SATURDAY, April 27, at Cleveland Memorial Gardens at 10:30 AM.
