Marie V. Basile

MARIE V. BASILE (nee Coco) age 92, beloved wife for 65 years of the late Santo; loving mother of Theresa “Terri” and Rosemarie “Ro”; cherished daughter of the late Frank and Rose (nee Buffa) Coco; dearest sister of Veronica Tombazzi (husband Ivo); dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

Marie was born February 5, 1925 in Cleveland and passed away November 6, 2017 in Mayfield where she resided for 65 years. She was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi and a member of the Mayfield Village Garden Club. Marie volunteered at the Mayfield Village Days and the Mother’s Day Pancake Breakfast. She was a homemaker and cashier at Fisher Foods, but she also enjoyed ceramics, telling stories, gardening, cooking, baking and traveling to Florida. Marie was described as being a generous, kind, selfless, and outgoing woman with a great sense of humor. She was the light of love and always very friendly. Marie will be dearly missed.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, November 11, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6850 Mayfield Rd, Gates Mills, OH 44040 at 10 AM. Entombment following at Knollwood Mausoleum. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Marie at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) FRIDAY 2-4 & 5-8 PM.
