MARIE FINK (nee Hoge), aged 98 years, beloved wife of the late Richard J., dearest mother of Mary Ann Ricciardi (deceased) (husband James), devoted sister of Joseph Hoge (wife Frieda) (both deceased), Alfons Hoge (deceased) (wife Erika), and Gustav Hoge (wife Johanna) (both deceased), treasured aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend to many. 50-year member of E.O.U.V. Ladies Auxiliary.
Originally born in Slovenia, she was a beloved member of her family and her community. She was a baking enthusiast known for her strudel. Her cooking skills made the family gatherings she loved to host even more enjoyable. She cherished holiday traditions with family which include baking traditional Easter breads and dumplings, and candle lighting at Christmas with a special wine to toast. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, traveling, and having company over. She had a smile that would light up the room. She will be missed by her loved ones immensely. Thanks to the Aberdeen Crossing staff and the Cleveland Clinic Hospice for their attention, compassion, and support for Marie and the family. A big thank you to Erika Hoge, her sister-in-law, who selflessly devoted her time and energy to Marie’s wellbeing and comfort.
Donations in memory of Marie suggested to The Cleveland Clinic Hospice, 6801 Brecksville Rd. Suite #10, Independence, OH 44131.
