Marie A. Coffey

MARIE A. COFFEY (nee Locigno) age 89, beloved wife of the late Walter; loving mother of Mary Lynn Payne (deceased) (husband Frederick Joseph), Thomas, Paul (wife Kristine), Matthew (wife Therese), David (wife Mary) and Laura Hemmelgarn (husband Donald); devoted grandmother of 19 and great-grandmother of 7; cherished daughter of the late Frank and Lillian (nee LaPlena) Locigno; dearest sister of the late Ross and Sam Locigno.

Marie was born on June 23, 1929 in Cleveland’s Little Italy neighborhood and passed away December 5, 2018 in Mayfield Heights.  She has been a resident of Mayfield Heights for the past 15 years and formerly South Euclid.  Marie was a long-time member of St. Gregory of the Great Catholic Church and is an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister.  Marie was a member of ISDA, Eastside Irish American Club, Christ Child Society, Carmelite Guild, and the Terrace Garden Club.  She graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1947.  Marie was a Director of Government & Public Relation and retired from Cablevision.  She loved her grandchildren and staying in touch with them, as well as following Cleveland sports teams.  Marie enjoyed traveling to Europe, cruising, and traveling the United States.  She was full of life, outgoing, friendly, funny, giving, and generous of her time.  She will be dearly missed.

Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 10 AM at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Marie at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) WEDNESDAY 4-8 PM.
