MARIA “STELLA” DiLIDDO (nee Savarino), aged 88 years, beloved wife for 65 years to Andrew J., dearest mother of Andrew Jr. (wife Rebecca), Edward, Frances Kurtz (husband William) and Janice Ulrich (husband Steve), devoted daughter of the late Pietro and Frances (nee Cipolla) Savarino, cherished sister of the late John Savarino; dear aunt, great-aunt and cousin of many.
Stella was born on March 29, 1928 in Cleveland and passed away on July 19, 2016. She was a resident of Solon for 4 years formerly of Kirtland and a long-time resident of Lyndhurst. Stella was a longtime parishioner of St. Clare Catholic Church. Although born in Cleveland she moved to Detroit where she went and graduated from High School. Stella was a member of “The Sewing Club” in Lyndhurst, a group of life-long friends that met once a month.
Stella and Andrew met in Detroit before Andrew served in the U.S. Army-Airforce. Andrew graduated from John-Carroll University in 1949 and from University of Detroit in 1952. After Andrew graduated from University of Detroit in 1952, Stella and Andrew moved to Cleveland. She enjoyed being a homemaker and worked part-time at Ursuline Motherhouse-serving meals and entertaining the in-firmed Ursuline sisters. Stella loved ceramics, was an avid reader, shopping, and traveling. She enjoyed classic movies, especially movies with Clark Gable. Stella will be remembered most as a fun loving, generous, giving woman who had an infectious laugh. She was an excellent cook, loved to entertain and was always very hospitable to others.

Relatives and friends are invited to meet for the Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, July 23, 2016, at St. Clare Catholic Church 5659 Mayfield Rd., Lyndhurst, OH 44124 at 10:30 AM. Burial following in All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Stella at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) FRIDAY 4-8 PM.
