Marguerite Gilbert

MARGUERITE H. GILBERT (nee Hoffacker) age 100, beloved wife for 65 years of the late Robert C.; loving mother of Brian D. (wife Connie R., deceased) and the late Gail Manbeck Haverdill (husband Thomas G.); devoted grandmother of Bradley Manbeck (wife Leslie)  and Leah Manbeck-Martin (husband Jeff) and great-grandmother of Jude, Eli, and Joracin Manbeck; cherished daughter of the late Michael and Mabel (nee Miller) Hoffacker; dearest sister of the late Robert Hoffacker (wife Esther), Karl Hoffacker (wife Elsie), and Kenneth Hoffacker; dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

The piano has been Marguerite’s central focus her entire life.  She earned her Bachelor of Music degree with a Major in Piano from the Cleveland Institute of Music in 1949. Musical organizations such as The Musical Art Society and The Cecilian Musical Club are just two of the numerous musical organizations she dedicated her musical talents towards. Her ultimate contribution came from her love to teach others to play the piano.  It would be impossible to identify all the individuals she touched with her teaching skills, however it is the reason she lived to 100 years of age. Teaching was so important to her that she was still teaching one week before her passing.
