She grew up in Little Italy and later lived in Mayfield Heights, Old Brooklyn & Willoughby Hills, Ohio. She also lived, or had extended visits in Tucson, Arizona, Sherman Oaks, California, Kona, Hawaii, Ulm, Germany, Naples & Tampa, Florida, and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; with extended stays in Spain & France. It is safe to say she traveled and loved new environments & adventures, visiting 40 countries and tasting the flavors of the world. She loved trying new foods and experiencing new cultures. Taking her experiences and new found flavors home to experiment making those dishes for all to enjoy. She was never short on striking up conversations with Internationals or new friends she encountered or were welcomed into any of our spheres.
Marge served the LORD Jesus throughout her life she fed the one or the many in her various restaurants, at home and even at 2100 Lakeside homeless shelter for men along with her daughter Renee and friends from Parkside Church. In 2009 prior Renee & Joseph going to serve with missionary organization called Youth With A Mission (YWAM), she went off ahead of them learning to press into and to serve Jesus with YWAM (aka Youth(ful) With A Mission) in Kona, Hawaii. She still remains the eldest person ever to finish their Discipleship Training School, a 3 month intensive course; then travelled to Spain & France with a YWAM team to serve unreached people with the gospel for half a year. After returning to Cleveland she signed up to serve with another YWAM Base in Tampa, Florida to serve for months. Her mother Anna would call her “Mar-go”, because she was always travelling somewhere to visit family members or for a new adventure.
She proudly wore many hats, including working as a Caterer, Owner of Peppino’s Pizza Parlor in Mayfield Heights, Euclid Spudnuts, & Trivi’s Pizza in Solon. She was also a Travel Agent & Real Estate Agent. She was a member of the ISDA Lodge – i.e. Joe & Marie Frank for over 30 years.
She loved celebrating holidays at her home, cooking and inviting family and friends. Any day was a holiday when someone would walk in, the table would be set and out would come the pots and pans. Marge could make something fabulous appear, in short order. Setting a lovely table with matching dishes, table cloth and napkins were also her specialty.
She was social, hospitable, approachable and funny. Many a guests from around the world were always welcomed and stayed in her home(s). She loved her kids, grandchildren, family & friends. She loved her Bella, a sweet Shi-York that was given to her 7-years ago from her goddaughter Tammy. Bella loved Momma Marge.
Marge also enjoyed going to Bible Study Fellowship, which she did for 5 years, making wonderful friends. She especially loved watching Game shows, Hallmark Channel, Matlock, NCIS and any older TV shows. Marge loved Find-A-Word, Jenga, playing cards and games with others, watching the news and reading the Plain Dealer. She valued her friends whether current ones at MaryRose Estate as well as old dear ones from days gone by. She loved Jesus with all her heart, some of her final words to us included – “Jesus take me home please. I love you Jesus with my whole heart”. She was strong willed and resilient, through both opportunities and disappointments. Marge will be dearly missed by all the ‘Apple’s of her eye’.
Like Billy Graham one of her favorite verses was.
John 3:16-17 (NCV) “God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only SON so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life. God did not send his Son into the world to judge the world guilty, but to save the world through him.”
