Margaret Petrof

Margaret “Metel” (Ondecko) Petrof, 89, of Newbury, a homemaker, passed away Nov. 13, 2012, in Leroy, from complications of Alzheimer’s. Born Feb. 13, 1923, in Barnesboro, Pa., she had lived in Newbury for the past 53 years. She enjoyed gardening and dancing.

Survivors are her sons, Martin (Christine) of Leroy and Allen F. (Pamela E.) of Chardon; grandchildren, Jennifer, Michael and Steven Petrof; and brother, Andy Ondecko. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Petrof Jr.; and many brothers and sisters.

uneral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at St. Helen Catholic Church, 12060 Kinsman Road, Newbury. Burial will be in Munn Cemetery in Newbury. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home and Crematory of Chardon (formerly Ritondaro), 126 South St., (Route 44, south of Route 6), Chardon.
