MAJ. E. RICHARD CSOLTKO age 79, Ret. U.S. Army Combat Vietnam Veteran; beloved husband for 54 years of Jean  (nee Bartholomew); loving father of  Sgt. Edward J., C.P.D (wife Mai “Lisa”); devoted grandfather of Mark, Daniel and Nicole; cherished son of the late Edward and Rose (nee Beres); dearest brother of  Elaine Sheridan (husband John, deceased); treasured brother-in-law of Anthony Bartholomew; dear cousin and friend of many. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Richard to Hospice of the Western Reserve P.O. Box 72101, Cleveland, OH 44192.

Maj. E. Richard Csoltko was born in Cleveland, OH on February 16, 1940 and grew up on Buckeye. Richard passed away peacefully on February 2, 2020. He was a resident of Cleveland Heights since 1975. Richard was a retired US Army Vietnam Veteran and while in the military he served in Germany and Vietnam and received the Bronze Star. Richard was a member of his local VFW. He graduated from Cathedral Latin High School in 1958 and received undergraduate degree from the University of Dayton and his master’s degree at the University of Utah. Richard worked as an accountant for the Department of Navy Finance. He played the saxophone in the University of Dayton Marching band. Richard enjoyed golf, bowling and was an avid reader. He liked to listen to jazz music and the band Chicago. He was a big sports fan, especially the Cleveland Indians and Browns and followed the University of Dayton and St. Joseph High School sports.  Richard will be remembered as a social, hard working man with a dry sense of humor. He was devoted to his family and serving his country. Richard will be dearly missed.

Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 11 AM at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish. Burial following with Military Honors at Lake View Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Richard at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) TUESDAY MORNING 9:30 – 10:30  AM.
