Louise Mitra

LOUISE C. MITRA (nee D’Amico) age 85, beloved wife for 65 years of Mark; loving mother of Lena Willner (husband Ron), Antonetta Calabrese (husband Sam), and Rita Antalovich (husband Scott); devoted grandmother of Marc (wife Kate) Willner, John and Samantha Antalovich, Louis and Grace Calabrese and great-grandmother of Luke and Claire Willner; cherished daughter of the late Vincenzo and Fiorentina (nee Rossodivita) D’Amico; dearest sister of the late Francesco, Raffaele and Angelo D’Amico and Maria Tromba; treasured daughter-in-law of the late Sam and Pasqulina (nee Fiorilli); fond sister-in-law of John and Carmela Mitra, Mary and Tony Frate; dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

Louise was born in Toro, Italy on May 19, 1934 and passed away on February 11, 2020. In 1958, Louise and Mark came to the United States from Italy. They first lived in Collinwood and then moved to Highland Heights where they were parishioners of Saint Paschal Baylon Catholic Church since 1964. Louise worked as a seamstress and loved to knit, sew, cook and bake. She was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and loved cheering on Rocky Colavito during his time with the Tribe. Louise was proud of her Italian heritage and enjoyed telling stories about her mother and growing up in Italy. She was devoted to her husband, children and especially her grandchildren. Louise will be remembered for being caring, giving and strong-willed with a sense of humor. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, February 15, 2020 at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church at 10:30 AM. Entombment following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Louise at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) FRIDAY 4-8 PM.
