Louis Kulis

LOUIS F. KULIS, age 74, entered into eternal life July 1, 2017 at Hillcrest Hospital. Lou was born August 28, 1942 to the late Louis C. and Gladys (nee Broz) Kulis in East Cleveland, OH. He lived in Lyndhurst, OH and graduated from Brush High School in 1960 and served in the U.S. Navy. Lou married his wife Marie “Diane” Kulis on January 19, 1963 and lived in Chesterland, OH.

Lou became a policeman for the South Euclid police department and rose to the rank of lieutenant before retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, South Euclid Lodge #080.

Lou spent his free time building, fixing and repairing electronic equipment. He especially loved building computers and restoring tractors. He like to redesign things to make them better. Lou’s family described him as a thinker, philosopher and teacher. All Lou ever wanted to do is give his knowledge to others and teach them. He was very strong-willed individual and a multi-tasker that was not fazed by stress. He was loving, kind hearted and always was willing to help others.

Lou is survived by his wife of four years Martha Kreger who he married on May 25, 2013. In addition to his wife, Lou is survived by his children Louis J. Kulis (wife Ruth), Cynthia Theinert (husband Friedrich), Sandra Zombory (husband Steve) and Michael Kulis (wife Ellen); grandchildren Louis M. Kulis (wife Jacklyn), Julianne Kulis, Heather Theinert, Erich Theinert, Steven Zombory, Paige Zombory; great-grandchildren David Oleksiak, Nicholas Oleksiak, and Alexandra Kulis; siblings Lorene Kulis (husband Richard Filkins), Greg Kulis (wife Christine), and Marty Kulis (wife Lois).

Beside his parents, Lou was preceded in death by wife Diane (nee Vigil) Kulis who died on December 8, 2000.

A Celebration of Life Service will be Friday, July 7, 2017 at THE FUNERAL HOME at 10 AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Lou at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) THURSDAY 3-5 & 6-8 PM.
