Louis Jacob Amer

LOUIS JACOB AMER, aged 93 years, beloved husband for 40 years to the late Mary Catherine (nee Quinlivan), dear father of Michael (wife Kim), Ellen, Kathleen and Kevin (wife Trace), loving grandfather of Nathaniel and Lily, devoted son of the late Alphonsus J. and Helen (nee Young), cherished brother of the late Helen Seib (husband Karl), Mary Jo Brownfield (husband Robert), Thomas (wife Jean), Barbara Walter (husband James) and Alphonsus (wife Mary Ellen surviving), fond uncle and great-uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Amer was a graduate of Ohio State University, a veteran of the United States Navy, and a long-time resident of Chesterland. He was an accomplished artist with many shows throughout N.E. Ohio, was a patented inventor, and was actively involved in local theater productions.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Lou suggested to Brain Injury Association of Ohio, PO Box 21325, Columbus, Ohio 43221 or to St. Anselm Parish, 12969 Chillicothe Rd, Chesterland, OH 44026. Relatives and friends are requested to meet for the Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018 at St. Anselm Catholic Church (Chesterland) at 11 AM. Burial with Military Honors at a later date in All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Lou at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND, 12811 CHILLICOTHE RD. (Rt. 306, just South of Mayfield Rd.) TUESDAY 4-8 PM.
