LORETTA J. (nee Hughey) SMITH
Tribute Service for Loretta J. (nee Hughey) Smith, 73, will be on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 11:00 AM at The DeJohn Funeral Home & Crematory of Chardon (formerly Ritondaro) 126 South St. (Rt. 44, south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square). Mrs. Smith died on Thursday August 30, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a resident of Thompson for 5 years previously living in Rome.

Loretta worked as a Nurse Aide at several nursing homes for many years. She enjoyed being with her family especially at holiday gatherings.

She is survived by her children Randy (Ruby) Pursley of TN, Larry Pursley of Geneva, Paul Pursley of MI, Kimberly (Donald) Helm of Thompson, Connie Crites of Middlefield; sisters Aileen St. John of Niles and twin Iretta West of Chardon; step-children Bruce (Sam) Smith of Lake Cardinal, Christi (Al) LaPrairie of Burton, Kelly (Dan) Groft of PA; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband Walter Smith, daughter Rhonda Pursley, parents Della Elizabeth (nee Light) and John Curtis Hughey; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Loretta at the Funeral Home on Friday 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Burial will follow the Service in Montville Twp. Cemetery.
