LORETO GENNARO “JIMMY” DiPALMA age 92, born in Oratino, Italy and devoted resident of Little Italy, beloved husband of the late Nancy (nee Iafelice); loving father of MaryJane Tomaselli (husband “Jack” deceased), Carmela Hayes (husband Joseph), and Pat (Marianne); devoted grandfather of Jennifer, Jonathon, Marissa, Joshua, Alina, and Alixzandra; great-grandfather “Nonno Jimmy” of 12; cherished son of the late Pasquale and Marianna (nee Mastrangelo); dearest brother of Teresa Latessa of Italy (husband Pietro deceased) and the late Giuseppe DiPalma (wife Rita); dear uncle and great-uncle of many.

Jimmy was born on September 7, 1924 and passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 11, 2016. He was a 71 year resident of Little Italy, Cleveland previously residing in Italy. Jimmy was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He came to the US at the age of 21 in 1945. Jimmy was a member of The Oratinese Club. He went on to become a machinist and retired from G.E. Jimmy enjoyed gardening, playing and watching bocce ball, and loved to walk in the neighborhood of Little Italy and socialize. He loved watching Cleveland sports on television. Jimmy loved to sing and whistle, Italian music, pizzelles, and his wine. He was very proud of having 12 great grandchildren. Jimmy was friendly, social, hardworking, and a jokester. He will be dearly missed.

Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 12021 Mayfield Rd, Cleveland, OH 44106 at 10 AM. Family Only Private Burial at Lake View Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Jimmy at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) MONDAY 4-8 PM.
