LLOYD V. PHILLIPS, SR, age 91. Beloved husband for 63 years of the late Lillian J. (nee Bozeglav). Loving father of Bernadette Spena, Vincent (wife Margaret) of Alaska, Patrick (wife Stephanie) of Massillon, OH, Mary Waite (husband Mike) of Pataskala, OH, Ann Alioto (husband Ignatius) and Lloyd, Jr (wife Cassia). Devoted grandfather of Anthony, Lauren, Rebecca, Matthew, Stephen, Lily, Grace and Alescia. Cherished son of the late Michael and Hilda (nee Reinkoster). Dearest nephew of the late Lena (nee Reinkoster) and Vince Orth. Dear cousin of the late Vincent “JR” Orth.

Lloyd was a member of St Noel parish since 1980 where he volunteered as a Eucharistic Minister, usher and at various other church activities. He was a former member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish in Wickliffe and received the honors of the 3rd Degree of the Knights of Columbus (Willoughby Council). He served as a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II and saw action in the European, African and Middle Eastern theaters. He was intelligent, quiet, family oriented and respectful of others. He also had a strong faith, good sense of humor and great work ethic. During his 35 year career as an industrial engineer with Euclid Truck, he traveled the world until he retired in 1984.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at St. Noel Catholic Church at 10 AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery.

The family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Lloyd at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM
