Ljubica Galic

Ljubica Galic (nee Grdic) entered eternal rest on January 5, 2025.

Ljubica was born February 24, 1942 in Zagorje (Ogulinsko), Croatia to the late Anton and Marija Grdic (nee Luketic). She married the love of her life, Mile Galic, on August 17, 1963. Ljubica was a devout Catholic with a resourceful and strong work ethic and impeccable attention to detail. She was an excellent cook and her home baked goods were not only delicious but were a presentation worthy of the finest bakery. She was an amazing wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, daughter, sister, cousin, friend and proud Croatian who deeply loved her heritage as well as her American homeland. Ljubica's life embodied the phrase Fiat Voluntas Tua, Thy Will be Done, as she gracefully and bravely accepted the will of God for her life. She will never be forgotten and always cherished for her unwavering devotion to her family. The family wishes to thank the staff of Danbury Mentor and Hospice of Western Reserve for their kind and compassionate care in Ljubica's final days.

Ljubica is survived by her beloved husband, Mile; her devoted children: Mary and John (Sandra); her most loved grandchildren: Anthony Raguz and Petar and Anabela Galic; the dear families of the late Josip and Mate Luketic in Cleveland as well as many loving family members in Boston, Croatia and Hercegovina.

She is preceded in death by her beloved parents and siblings.

Family will receive friends to celebrate the life of Ljubica from 4-7pm on Friday, January 10, 2025 at The DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home of Willoughby Hills, 28890 Chardon Rd. (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91). Funeral Mass will be held at 10am, Saturday, January 11 at St. Paul Croatian Church, 1369 E. 40th Street, Cleveland. (Please Meet at Church). The Rev. Zvonko Blasko will officiate services. Interment to follow at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cleveland Clinic Brain Study or St. Paul Croatian Church.
