LISA ANN DONOVAN, aged 52 years, beloved wife for 16 years to John DiVincenzo, loving daughter of Mary Beth (nee Monroe) and the late Tom Donovan, cherished sister of Teresa Todd (David), Thomas (Jamie), Susie (Ron), Kate McDade (Tim), Megan Lublin (Patrick) and Kevin, devoted aunt, sister-in-law, niece, cousin and friend to many.
Lisa was born on August 16, 1966 in Cleveland, OH and passed away peacefully on May 7, 2019. She was a resident of Cleveland Heights for the past 20 years. Lisa lived in Athens, OH during her college years and after that she was a member of The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), Ohio University Alumni Association and Girls Pint Night Out Club. Lisa graduated from Charles F. Brush High School. She obtained her Bachelor of Science and Masters Degree at Ohio University. Lisa was a dedicated Professor of Early Childhood Education at Cuyahoga Community College and President of Donovan Packaging Company. She enjoyed crafts, horse racing, traveling and gardening. She liked to read, fish, make pesto sauce and basket weaving. Lisa loved hot tubbing, flowers and collecting sea shells. She enjoyed listening to Talking Heads, “Moon River”, Janis Joplin, The Doors, Irish music and the violin. Lisa’s husband, family and friends gave her the most joy in life. She also liked studying brain development, being outside and children books. Lisa loved rainbows, flowers, mini banana splits and cruising around in the Chrysler convertible. She enjoyed “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and Mr. Rogers. Lisa’s special memories were Christmas tree cutting, watching Charlie Brown with her nieces and nephews, Christmas Eve and apple/pumpkin picking. Her favorite family functions were going to Conneaut Lake Park, Kentucky Derby, Holden Arboretum, Paw-Paw Festival and Paradise in Siesta Key. Lisa will be remembered as a strong woman with a kind, generous heart. A devoted teacher believing in the importance of early childhood. She could make a hat out of a coffee filter or a musical instrument out of a pringle’s can. “Lisa Pizza” was a friend to many and will be greatly missed. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, May 11, 2019 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish at 11 AM. Interment Lake View Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Lisa at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just East of Green Rd.) FRIDAY 2-5 AND 6-8 PM.
