Lillian M. Frechette

LILLIAN M. FRECHETTE (nee Byerley) age 101, beloved wife for 56.5 years of Rolland “Rollie”; loving mother of Sandra Lee Frechette Disbro (husband Larry); devoted grandmother of Kellee Marie-Frechette Disbro: cherished daughter of the late Wilma (nee Schonberger) and Howard Byerley; dearest sister of the late Dee Easter; treasured aunt of Gary Easter (wife Mary) and Scott Easter (husband Calvin Loy).

Lillian was born on March 10, 1922, in Cleveland, Ohio. She was raised in Euclid, Ohio by her mother Wilma, a homemaker, and her father, Howard, who was a fireman for the city of Euclid. She had one sibling, Delilas, who was fondly called “Toots”. While growing up, Lillian enjoyed playing baseball, swimming in Lake Erie, tap dancing and helping her aunt who was a realtor. Lillian graduated from Euclid Central High School in 1941. During her four years of high school, Lillian served as president of the Dance Club, participated in Tennis Club, Glee Club, Intramural sports (earned an intramural letter), Movie Club, and Social Board.

Lillian owned her own cottage in Willoughby-on-the-Lake at age 16 and taught herself how to drive a car at the ripe old age of 12! She worked at Bailey’s, Thompson Products, Giant Tiger, Uncle Bill’s and Woolworth’s. Lillian met her husband, Rollie Frechette, while she was in the hospital for foot surgery. Rollie came to visit his aunt who was Lillian’s roommate in the hospital. Let’s just say Rollie really enjoyed visiting his aunt. Following WWII, when Rollie returned from the Service, Lillian and Rollie were married in 1945. They were married until Rollie passed in 2002. Lillian was an avid Indians/Guardians Fan. She loved watching her granddaughter’s sporting events too. She was sociable, hard-working and devoted to her family, who was her biggest joy in life.
