LILLIAN E. JOLIAT (nee Vosmik) age 91, beloved wife of the late Richard E. “Dick”; loving mother of Pierre (wife Susan), Philip (wife Julie), John, and the late Michelle, Suzanne and Claire; devoted grandmother of Melissa, Michael (husband Patrick), Nicole and Amelia Joliat; dearest sister of the late Beatrice Malaska, Joseph Vosmik, Marie McGee, and George Vosmik; dear aunt and great-aunt of many.
Lillian was born in Cleveland on December 5, 1929 and passed away peacefully on June 9, 2021. She was a resident of Lyndhurst for 62 years, and prior to that, she lived in Mayfield Heights. After graduating from Notre Dame Academy in 1947, and then Notre Dame College in 1951, Lillian went on to become a physical education teacher at Notre Dame College. Lillian was affiliated with the St. Clare Women’s Guild, Renewal, and Mission Group, Camp Fire Girls (leader), Lyndhurst Garden Club, and Notre Dame College Alumni. She was Woman of the Year, 1988. She was a life-long learner who also enjoyed traveling, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren. As a Cleveland fan, Lillian watched the Browns, Cavs, and Indians. She liked to golf and go bowling, and spent time creating Ikebana Japanese flower arrangements. Her family describes her as being loving, kind, and full of grace. She was social, generous, hospitable, and loved to entertain. She had a sense of humor, and was determined, faithful and devoted to family and faith. She will be missed by many.
Contributions may be made in memory of Lillian to Notre Dame College Athletic Fund.
