Lillian Coccia

LILLIAN G. COCCIA age 100, beloved daughter of the late Domenico (Iolanda deceased) and Teresa Coccia (nee Palumbo); dearest sister of Giovanna Coccia Kovach (husband John) and the late Mary Jane Coccia; dear cousin of Mary Olack, Joseph and Debbie Tomba, Pompeo and Lucia Cusmai, Doretta Durante Miller, and many more.

Lillian was born on May 5, 1918 in Montagono, Italy and passed away 100 years young on May 19, 2018. At the age of 10 she moved to the Cleveland area, where she learned to speak English, and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy. After high school she attended Wilcox Business College, and continued a career in Finance. She devoted many years to McDonald Investment Securities before retiring.  Lillian and her family were founding members of Chris the King Church, and when the parish was no longer, she became a member of St. Noel Catholic Church. She loved listening and dancing to Big Band music and reading Danielle Steel romance novels. Lillian also enjoyed having her traditional, Italian Christmas Eve dinner with her sister and the assortment of cookies she would bake. Easter was another holiday she looked forward to, as it meant those delicious Italian pastries she could never resist. When we look back on Lillian’s life we will always remember her love and respect for fashion. She treasured going shopping, and was always dressed to the nines. Lillian was an amazing woman. Although somewhat reserved she was not afraid to voice her opinion. She said what she meant, and meant what she said, but always with love. For that she will be greatly missed.

Mass of Christian Burial Friday, May 25, 2018 at St. Noel Catholic Church 35200 Chardon Rd., Willoughby Hills, OH 44094 at 12 NOON. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery.
