Leonard Calanni

LEONARD S. CALANNI, SR., aged 81 years, long-time resident of Avon Lake and member and usher at St. Joseph Catholic Church, long-time companion to Linda Wilson, beloved father of Leonard S. II, Michael (wife Pam) and James, dear grandfather of Jessica and Joey, devoted son of the late Salvatore and Josephine (nee Pirello), cherished brother of Mary Bartkowicz (husband Frank) and Ann Calanni, fond uncle of Norma Weir (husband Chip) and Paula Hart (husband Steven Simon) and great-uncle of Genevieve, Margot and Nate.

Leonard was a proud United States Marine Corps Veteran. He was a member of the local chapter of the Buick Club of America and was a multi-trophy winner from showing his cars at auto shows and racing his ’72 Buick GS. Until recently, he played racket ball for many years with the same group of friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to The Josephine Calanni Endowment Fund at The Cleveland Women’s Orchestra, 2691 Country Club Blvd., Rocky River, OH 44116.

The family of Leonard invites relatives and friends to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial in thanksgiving for the life of Leonard on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 19000 Van Aken Blvd. (at Norwood Rd.), Shaker Heights, at 11 AM. Private burial with Military Honors at Calvary Cemetery.
