LEO P. D’ARCY passed away at the age of 77, surrounded by his family, on Sept. 18, 2013.
He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Joanne A. (nee Brick); and was the dear father of Lauri (Bob) Davidson, Ray (Debbie), Doug, John (Peggy), Matt (Beth) and Linda Hanratty and the late Lee Ann (Bill) Hvizdak, David and Jimmy. He was the grandfather of 15; great-grandfather of five; brother of Frank (Jacqueline), Matt and Jimmy, and the late Jack and Mother Margaret Mary PCPA.
Leo was a resident of Willoughby Hills and a longtime resident of Cleveland. He was a prominent figure at WELW radio for 25 years, retired as a Cuyahoga County baliff in 2010, and was past president of the Heights Exchange Club. Having never lived in Eastlake, Mr. D’Arcy was the former Eastlake Citizen of the Year and he ran the first Easter egg hunt ever run by the Euclid JayCees.
Gathering of friends for the celebration of Leo’s life will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at the DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott-Cosic Funeral Home, 28890 Chardon Road, Willoughby Hills (between Bishop Road and Route 91). All are invited to meet at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Jerome’s Church, 15000 Lakeshore Blvd., Cleveland, for the funeral service. Burial will immediately follow at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township. Arrangements by David C. Brickman, 440-953-0505.
