LAURA A. (nee Caserta) CARCIOPPOLO

Laura A. Carcioppolo, 93, died on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Menorah Park surrounded by her family. Laura was born April 11, 1923 in Cleveland to the late Eugenia and Palma (nee Fazio) Caserta.

Laura embodied the slogan “We can do it” in everything that she did as she, too, was a riveter like Rosie. She contributed to the war effort by taking training at Fenn College to be a riveter and was on a team to build the B-29 bomber engine Nacelle at the Fisher Body Plant in Cleveland, Ohio. She was later employed with General Electric at Nela Park. She showered family and friends with her love and service, excellent cooking skills and creative parenting while at the same time helping to run her husband’s business, Vito’s Tree Service. She had a keen sense of humor and a mischievous spirit which has been the source of much laughter as we tell and retell her stories.

Laura is survived by her children Annamarie Kachurek (Bob), Victor (Susan) Eugene (Sally), and Joe (Dee); grandchildren Natalie Manzanares (Jose), Laura Pinto (Mike), Catherine Young (Bret), John Kachurek, Danny Carcioppolo (Teresa), Mikey Carcioppolo, Gino Carcioppolo (Kristie), Desi Carcioppolo (fiancé Mike Palumbo), Andy Carcioppolo (Lindsay) and great grandmother of Manny, Ana, Robbie, John, Hilary, Vito, Sophie, Angelo, Cole; cherished aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Ms. Carcioppolo was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Vito; siblings Katie Steele, Albert Caserta, Albino Caserta, Lena Centrackio, Ida Hrusch, William Caserta, Mike Caserta, Mary Scicolone, Albina Kenny, Virginia Atwood and Eugene Caserta.

Mass of Christian Burial Thursday November 17, 2016 at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church at 11 am. Entombment following at All Souls Mausoleum. Family will receive friends at the CHURCH THURSDAY 10-11 am.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Laura’s memory to Our Lady of the Wayside, 38135 Colorado Avenue, Avon, Oh, 44011.
