KENNETH A. “Papa” QUINN, age 80, beloved husband for 54 years of Loretta (nee Toohig); loving father of Matt (Ann), Shannon, Colleen (Nikki), and Ryan (Emily); devoted grandfather “Papa” of 10 amazing Masterpieces: Nolan, Collin, Alexa, Kayla, Lauren, Jack, Caden, Abbey, Kennedy, and Cooper Quinn; cherished son of the late Ethel (nee Thompson) and Howard Quinn; dearest brother of Ethel Payerchin (Frank, deceased), Diane Quinn, brother-in-law of Joanne (Ed) Bokovitz, Rose Quinn and Jack Platz; preceeded in death by his siblings Connie Platz, Rita Talty (Tom, deceased), Tom Quinn, Dick Quinn (Sharon, deceased), and Howard Quinn; dear uncle and great-uncle of many; loved by his canine companion and best-friend he never wanted, Clover.
Ken was a proud alumnus of St. Philomena Elementary School, Cathedral Latin High School, and Cleveland State University. After graduating from Cathedral Latin, Ken enlisted in the U.S. Navy in August of 1963 and served 4 years of active duty before being honorably discharged in August of 1967.
Ken and his wife Loretta, proud of their Irish heritage, were founding members of the East Side Irish American Club in 1978. Ken was a loving and supportive father and grandfather to his 4 children and 10 grandchildren. Ken was passionate about sports and other activities. He had a lasting impact on all children he coached throughout his life in many CYO sports and other extracurriculars.
Ken worked at Graphic Laminating, Laminex, and Datacode Systems. In 1995, Ken along with his son Matt, started ID Card Systems Inc. and the company will be celebrating its 30th anniversary in June. He was very well respected throughout the ID Security Industry; a testament to his success, integrity, and how he treated his customers and peers.
Ken will be remembered as a loving and caring father and grandfather, proud and supportive coach, and a brilliant, honest, and successful businessman.
U.S. Navy Veteran. Contributions may be made in memory of Ken Quinn to Tunnel to Towers Foundation & The Ursuline Sisters of Cleveland. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday March 6, 2025 at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church at 10 AM. Burial following with Military Honors at All Souls. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Ken “Papa Quinn” at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) WEDNESDAY FROM 3 - 7 PM.
