Kenneth C. Sohl, Sr.

KENNETH C. SOHL, SR, age 98, died peacefully with family at his side on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Richmond Heights Place. Kenneth was born on October 2, 1922.  He graduated from Cleveland Heights High School in 1939 and went on to become an engineer/draftsman at Eaton Corporation.  Ken and his wife, Julia, became residents of Richmond Heights in 1947, when they purchased an empty plot of land and Ken began building the family home. He planted a huge garden each summer, served on the city planning committee, and with Julia, raised 4 children. As a second job, he ran his own landscaping business. As a member of Mayfield United Methodist Church, he was responsible for designing and building the signage for the new church.  He was involved in the Richmond Hts. City Council and active in the Richmond Hts. Senior Group. In his spare time, Kenneth enjoyed gardening, bowling, golfing, fishing, dancing, and going on cruises with Julia and friends.  His most enjoyment in life came from being with his family, including vacations every summer. His family describes Kenneth as social, extremely proud, strong-willed, and hard-working with perfect printing. He will always be remembered whistling as he went about his chores in the yard that brought him so much pride and pleasure   Above all, Kenneth was devoted to his family and faith. He will be missed.
