Kathryn Cervelli

October 26, 1934 — March 17, 2025

KATHRYN A. CERVELLI (nee Bordonaro) age 90, beloved wife of the late Phillip for 63 years; loving mother of Karyn Stovicek, Margie Hansbury (Peter), Mary Jo Carter (Donald, deceased) and Nicole Pappas (Thomas); devoted grandmother of Christina (Mark) Rubino, Rachel (Michael) Kolecky, Deanna (David) Oliphant, Scott Ladan, and Daniel Carter; caring great-grandmother of Eve Kolecky, Eleanor Oliphant, and Remy Kolecky; cherished daughter of the late Sam and Margaret Bordonaro (nee Mercurio); dearest sister of the late Cosmo Bordonaro and Frank (Pati) Bordonaro; Lifelong friend of Trudy Naso; treasured caretaker of her late faithful feline, Jimmy Dash; dear aunt and great-aunt of many. Contributions may be made in memory of Kathryn to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel for Masses said for her.

Kathryn was born on October 26, 1934, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Sam and Margaret Bordonaro. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1954, after which she married the love of her life, Phillip, in 1956. The two went on to start a family of their own with the addition of four wonderful children. Kathryn was a lifelong parishioner at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Wickliffe, Ohio, and was a past member of the church choir and the Mt. Carmel Players. She was employed by Lake West Hospital, where she worked diligently for over 15 years in various support roles. Using her organizational skills, Kathryn always assisted her dear friend Palma planning their class reunions. She was a wonderful cook and baker and preserved the family recipes for generations to come. Outside of her diligent work at both Lake West Hospital and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Kathryn could often be found reading light romance novels, religious books, and poetry, as well as crafting, knitting and baking. She also enjoyed listening to Tony Bennett, Jerry Vale, and Frank Sinatra. What brought Kathryn the most joy in life though, was spending time with her family and her time spent reading. She was a woman who had strong convictions both for her catholic faith, and for how much she loved her family. Kathryn passed away on March 17, 2025, leaving behind a legacy as the matriarch of a faith filled family that will miss her dearly.
