Kathleen M. Nowland

Kathleen M. “Kathy” Nowland, 65, of Chardon passed suddenly June 5, 2013 at Geauga Regional Hospital with family by her side. Kathy was a loving mother, grandmother, “Nanny” and great-grandmother; she is survived by her daughters Cheryl Crouch of Arlington, VA and Kimberly Jones of Middlefield; her 6 grandsons, Michael (Carrie) Crouch, Brian (Lola) Gibson, Billy Gibson, John Crouch, Kristopher Burgan Jr., Jacob Elefteriou and two great-grandsons Aiden Gibson and Mason Crouch. She is also survived by her long-time significant other, Don Morris, her brother Joe (Anne) Nowland and her sisters Suzanne (George) Hibbard and Mary Nowland. She is preceded in death by her mother Colleen Jones, father Joseph Nowland, sister Judy (Lenny) Weston and brother Robbie Nowland.

Kathy was a long-time member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club in Chardon. Her family gave her the greatest joy in life along with her strong Christian faith. She enjoyed being with people particularly while sitting around a camp fire. Her family describes her as loving, compassionate, spiritual, caring, wise, intelligent and comfortable being with many different ages and groups of friends.

The family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Kathy at The DeJohn Funeral Home & Crematory of Chardon (formerly Ritondaro) 126 South St. (Rt. 44, south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) on Saturday June 22, 2013 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM followed by a Tribute Service at 2:00 PM. Cremation by DeJohn Crematory.
