Katherine “Kay” Richards

KATHERINE “KAY” RICHARDS (nee Bystry) age 91, beloved wife for 64 years of David; cherished daughter of the late Michael and Katherine (nee Novak) Bystry; dearest sister of the late Helen Mancuso, Ann Hathaway, Andrew and Peter Bystry, Margaret Lubich, Bertha Becar and Loretta Duca; dear sister-in-law, aunt and great-aunt of many. Retired General Electric employee.

Katherine “Kay” Richards was born on August 20, 1928 and passed away peacefully on September 23, 2019. She was a resident of Richmond Heights since 1961 and prior to that Lyndhurst. Kay graduated from high school in Pennsylvania. She worked as a secretary at General Electric. Kay enjoyed golf, bowling, baseball, boating, camping and playing bridge. She found the most enjoyment in traveling Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, Canada and Florida. Kay will be remembered as a social, funny and witty woman who was the life of the party. She loved to entertain. Kay was always positive and hard working. She will be dearly missed.

Celebration of Life Service Monday, September 30, 2019 at 11 AM at THE FUNERAL HOME. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Kay at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91)  SUNDAY 2-6 PM.
