KAREN SEDLACEK (nee Gerber) age 59, beloved wife for 37 years of Chris; loving mother of Aaron and Katelyn; cherished daughter of the late Ronald and Peggy Ann (nee Parks) Gerber; dearest sister of Russ (wife Ellen) Gerber and Susan (husband Mark) Quick; dear aunt of Owen and Rachel Quick.

Karen was born on July 16, 1961, and passed away on May 29, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a resident of Novelty for 30 years and grew up in Smithville. Karen graduated from Smithville High School and proudly went on to work as an X-Ray and MRI Technician at Lake Health for 10 years. She enjoyed cooking, making pottery, gardening, and spending time at the Casino in her free time. Karen loved taking trips and especially cherished her trip to Ocean City, Maryland. She also enjoyed baking Christmas cookies and listening to Queen. Karen was a great mom, enjoyable to be around, and never criticized others. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Celebration of Life Service Wednesday June 9, 2021 at 7:00 PM at THE FUNERAL HOME. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Karen at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.)  WEDNESDAY 5 – 7 PM.
