Karen Oberdoerster (Link)

KAREN OBERDOERSTER (nee Link), age 81; beloved wife of the late Clarence; loving mother of Mark (wife Deborah) of Ann Arbor, MI, Michael (partner Allen Huff) of Cincinnati, OH and Timothy (wife Karla) of Mentor, OH; devoted grandmother of Christen Snyder (husband Jordan), Carley, Molly, Zachary, Megan, Kathryn and great-grandmother of Maxwell. Dearest sister of the late Sarah Curtis and Robert Link; dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

While living in Lyndhurst, Karen was a member of St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church and Christ Child Society. She taught art, then nursery school and volunteered for many years at Hospice of the Western Reserve. A graduate of Athens High School and then Ohio University, Karen was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She enjoyed gardening, travel, music, art and spending time with her grandchildren. Her family will remember her fondly as generous, social and someone who loved being around people.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 20, 2013 at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church at 10:00 AM. Burial following at Lake View Cemetery.

The Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Karen at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) SUNDAY 3:00 – 6:00 PM.
