Kaliope Glinatsis Manuel, 76, passed away February 11, 2015. Funeral Services will be held February 16, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 3352 Mayfield Rd., Cleveland Hts., OH, celebrated by Fr. Stephen Callos.
Kaliope was born March 18, 1938 in Youngstown, OH, a daughter of Nomikos and Angeline Tsimouris Glinatsis (both deceased). She leaves her husband of 33 years, James C. Manuel, stepsons James Jr. (Xiromira) and Jeffrey (Nicolette) Manuel, grandchildren Haley, Marisa, Nicholas, and Andy. Her surviving siblings include her twin sister Katherine (Andy) Kartalis, sister Fanny (Marko) Joanow, brother Peter (Litsa) Glinatsis, and many nieces, nephews, and Godchildren. Preceding Kaliope in death were her sisters Sophia Glinatsis, Eva (John) Vaporis, and brothers, George, Tony, and John Glinatsis. Kaliope graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1955 and from Youngstown State in 1959 with a BS in Education. She retired (1990) as a teacher at Orange High School, Pepper Pike, OH after 31 years and managed the Orange School Employees Credit Union for 15 years.
Friends may pay their respects Sunday, February 15, 2015 5-8 p.m. at DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home, 4600 Mayfield Rd., South Euclid, OH (just east of Green Rd.) where there will be a Trisagion Service at 7:30. Graveside Service will be Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 5400 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512. Grave is located near the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made in her memory to Sts. Constantine & Helen Choir or Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave, Cleveland, OH 44110.
