JULIUS G. PASSALACQUA, age 85, beloved husband for 63 years of Cecilia (nee Mendiola); loving father of Julie L. Koren (husband Raymond), Jerome C. (wife Colleen (nee Kiernan), deceased) and Linda R. Cusick (husband Daniel); devoted grandfather of Raymond M., Matthew C. (partner Brandon Barclay) and Gregory S. (fiancé Michelle McCarthy) Koren, Christopher C. and Karen A. Passalacqua, Daniel J. (wife Leah (nee Strazisar)), Sean D. and Adrienne M. Cusick; cherished son of the late Salvatore and Rose Mary (nee Pusateri); dearest brother of Christine Vaccaro (husband Leonard) and the late Roy (wife Eurydice, deceased) and Anthony (wife Ginny) and (wife Frieda, deceased); treasured son-in-law of the late Frank and Lucretia (nee Flaminio) Mendiola; dearest brother-in-law of John and the late Ida Mendiola; dear uncle and great uncle of many.

Julius was born on August 11, 1930 in Cleveland and passed away on January 4, 2016 at home. Julius was a 1949 graduate of Cleveland Heights High School and a 1953 graduate of Kent State University. He was a member of Phi Kappa Theta and an all Ohio guard in Football. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who proudly served his country from 1954 – 1956. Julius was a resident of Willoughby Hills for 29 years formerly of Lyndhurst. He was a parishioner of St. Noel Catholic Church and St. Clare Catholic Church, where he was a Eucharistic Minister for the home-bound. Julius was the co-owner of Steel Transport Company. He enjoyed horseback riding, sailing and watching sports, especially the Browns and Indians. Julius was passionate about his grandchildren and also a passionate golfer, gardener and painter of watercolors.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, January 9, 2016 at St. Noel Catholic Church at 10 AM. Entombment following with Military Honors at All Souls Mausoleum. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Julius at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) FRIDAY 3-5 & 6-9 PM.
