JULIA OMAHEN (nee Miklavcic) age 89, beloved wife for 64 years of Joseph “Joze”; loving mother of Joseph J. (wife Bernadette) and the late Mary; devoted grandmother of Kathy Payto (husband Drew), Christine Czajka (husband Ben), Teresa Tromba (husband Vince), Valerie Schott (husband Steve), Stephanie Marcze (husband Laszlo) and great-grandmother of Emma, Ava, Adrienne, Joey, and Evelyn; cherished daughter of the late Alojze and Julia (nee Zupancic) Miklavcic; dearest sister of Magdi Skufca (husband Joze, deceased), Slavka Novljon (husband Joze, deceased), and Milena Pernus; treasured aunt and great-aunt.
Julia was born on July 26, 1932, in Slovenia and passed away on July 19, 2021, in Cleveland, Ohio. She was a resident of Richmond Heights and had been a proud parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church in Collinwood for the last 12 years. Julia truly embraced her heritage and was a member of Pristava Pensioners and Slovenska Pristava. She attended trade school for knitting and was very talented in her work. Julia enjoyed spending winters in Florida and playing Bocce. She enjoyed nature, gardening, and taking walks in the Metroparks, however it was taking care of her family that she loved the most. Julia made the best meals and made sure you walked away with full stomachs. She was so proud to be a grandmother to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her kind and loving spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, July 24, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 15519 Holmes Ave, Cleveland, OH 44110, at 10 AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Julia at THE ZEVNIK-COSIC FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) FRIDAY 4-8 PM. Contributions may be made in memory of Julia to St. Mary Catholic Church in Collinwood.
