JUERGEN LANGE, aged 74 years, beloved husband for 40 years to the late Karen Ann (nee Fedorchak), dear father of Julie Spohn (husband Doug), Jason (wife Julianne) and Brigit Bell (husband Ted), loving Opa of Cajen, Tessa, Ronan and Kaira Spohn, Violet Lange, and Macie, Hayden, Garrett and Kylie Bell, cherished son of the late Emil and Charlotte (nee Kariot), treasured brother of Gisela (deceased), Klaus Peter (wife Margret) and Eckard (wife Anke), devoted brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and a friend to many. Mr. Lange was a member of Bricklayers Union Local #5.
Juergen Lange was a kind-hearted son, brother, husband, father, cousin, uncle, and Opa, and friend to many. Juergen came to the U.S. from Germany in 1962. He had a fondness for music and joined a bluegrass band, and was invited by a friend to a family gathering in 1963, where he met Karen Fedorchak, the love of his life. They married in 1967 and spent more than forty wonderful years together before her passing in 2007. Juergen learned the trades, and worked in construction as a bricklayer for more than forty years, helping to build greater Cleveland on assignments at Case Western Reserve University, Quicken Loans Arena, Charles F. Brush High School, The Cleveland Clinic, Acme Supermarkets, and countless other developments throughout the region. Juergen was a devoted father to Julie, Jason, and Brigit, and together with Karen educated his children through the South Euclid-Lyndhurst school system, and proudly put his kids through college. Juergen and Karen were extremely proud of their children and their accomplishments, but he and Karen reserved their best roles for last, when they were blessed with nine grandchildren who came to know them as “Oma and Opa.” Oma and Opa had a zest for life, and cherished their friendships and family together. When Karen lost her battle to cancer in 2007, Juergen unconditionally celebrated her life everyday, until rejoining her this December.
We are deeply saddened that our dear Opa has departed, but we are overjoyed to know that he is reunited with dear Oma, and we celebrate their lives together this Christmas.
Jason, Julie, and Brigit
