Joyce M. (Burrows) Brandt, 82, passed away Dec. 31, 2012, at Hillcrest Hospital.
Born Nov. 23, 1930, in Cleveland, she was a resident of Willoughby before moving to Wickliffe 58 years ago.
Joyce was a member of Wickliffe Presbyterian Church, Red Hatters and the Browning Senior Center in Willoughby. She loved to read and study genealogy. She also enjoyed bowling, swimming and golf. She loved to travel and visited many countries including Ireland, Scotland, Italy and England. Her family remembers her as a kind, giving and generous person.
Mrs. Brandt was a retired secretary for the Wickliffe School System.
Joyce is survived by her husband of 62 years, Joseph. She was also the loving mother of her sons, Lee of Wickliffe and Neil (Barbara) of Concord; devoted grandmother of Anney and Jacob; sister of Warren W. “Bill” Burrows of Stuart, Fla.; and dear aunt and great-aunt of many. She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Marjorie (nee Buchan) Burrows.
Celebration of Life service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at The DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home Of Willoughby Hills, 28890 Chardon Road (between Bishop Road and Route 91). Pastor Mike Currier will officiate. Burial will follow at Whitehaven Memorial Park Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Family suggests contributions may be made in Joyce’s memory to Lake County Humane Society or to Wickliffe City Schools Library.
