JOSEPHINE A. VERDI (nee Kozel) age 94, beloved wife for 71 years of the late Joseph B; loving mother of Joseph R. (wife Patricia) and Thomas (wife Margaret); devoted grandmother of Kathleen Impullitti (husband Nicholas), Daniel (wife April), Brian, Jane, Michael (wife Kara), James (wife Cassandra), Katherine (fiancé Peter DeCapua) and great-grandmother of 8; cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (nee Trunkley) Kozel; dearest sister of the late Ann Rufo and Vera Dytewski; treasured sister-in-law of Marie Cimerall and Marion Dytewski; dear aunt and great-aunt of many.
Josephine was born on March 2, 1925 in Cleveland and passed away on July 10, 2019. She graduated from Jane Addams High School in 1943 and was a homemaker. Josephine was a member of AMLA and KSKJ, and loved listening and dancing to polkas. She enjoyed bowling, watching the Cleveland Indians, and baking. Josephine was devoted to her Catholic faith and her family. She will be remembered most as an outgoing, social, and witty woman. Josephine was very detailed, had an affinity for numbers and knew all the birthdays of her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.
Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 10:30 AM at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church. Private burial at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Josephine at THE ZEVNIK-COSIC FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) TUESDAY MORNING 9-10 AM.
