Josephine Lucy Cardellini

JOSEPHINE L. CARDELLINI (nee Carnazza) age 98, beloved wife of the late Anthony; loving mother of the late Anthony (wife Linda); devoted grandmother of Christina Cardellini-Rockey (husband Andrew) and Jennifer Cardellini (fiancé Nathan Creviston); cherished daughter of the late Ignatius and Grace (nee Cali) Carnazza; dearest sister of Carmella Genova (husband Joseph, deceased), Connie Valore (husband Salvatore, deceased), Virginia Berardinelli (husband Charles, deceased), and the late Mary Randazzo (husband Nick, deceased); dear aunt and great-aunt of many. Contributions may be made in memory of Josephine to Holy Angels Catholic Church 18205 Chillicothe Rd, Chagrin Falls, OH 44023.

Josephine was a Northeast Ohio native, born on June 11, 1921 in Cleveland where she spent her childhood years. Her late husband, Anthony, built their Richmond Heights home where they raised their late son Anthony and spent both their working and retirement years. Over the last decade, Josephine moved east, spending her later years in Aurora, and most recently in Twinsburg. She passed away in Twinsburg on July 13, 2019. As a Clevelander, she was an avid sports fan with a great love of the Cleveland Indians. Josephine will be remembered by her family and friends for her strong character and her incredible ability to captivate and command a room. She had an amazing sense of humor and a contagious smile that will be greatly missed. To Josephine, family was everything. She enjoyed participating in activities with, and in support of, her family, including watching her late husband Anthony bowl. In her spare time, Josephine enjoyed cooking, baking and participating in arts programming and activities. She was very creative and had an incredible eye for detail that translated into her profession as a seamstress, and later in life was demonstrated in the artwork she produced. She was fond of the music of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin and could always be found in the center of the dance floor at parties. She was a proud member of Italian Sons & Daughters (ISDA) and Societa Liberta Progresso. Josephine was a trend-setter, the family matriarch and a strong female role model for her granddaughters who learned from her to always speak their minds, even when it is difficult. She will be dearly missed by all.

Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Holy Angels Catholic Church at 11 AM. Burial following at All Saints Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Josephine at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.)  WEDNESDAY, July 17 from 3-5 and 6-8 PM.
